Treatments offered by Molly Leuthner
Molly’s rate is $65.00 per hour for all pulse and bodywork
treatments.
*Ayurvedic Pulse Assessment
This treatment begins by evaluating the Ayurvedic birth constitution
(Prakruti) by reading
the pulse on both wrists. This indicates how much Vata (ether and air),
Pitta (fire and
water), and Kapha (water and earth) an individual has at birth. The
birth constitution
gives information about the physical, mental, and emotional tendencies
of each
unique person.
The elements of all the organs, channels, tissues, chakras and glands
are also
assessed. Different nutrition, herbs, and lifestyle choices are given
for each individual
to move toward elemental balance.
90 minutes $100.00
*Three Hour Treatment
This is the initial pulse and bodywork session. 90 minutes are spent
assessing the
pulse, and 90 minutes are spent on various forms of bodywork to balance
the
individual constitution.
180 minutes $195.00
*Two Hour Treatment
This is the maintenance and follow-up of the three hour treatment or the
initial birth
pulse and bodywork treatment. 30 minutes are spent checking the pulse
and 90
minutes are spent on bodywork.
120 minutes $130.00
Molly also offers bodywork treatments without pulse. Hot stones, hot
compresses,
aromatherapy, and many modalities are included.
$65.00 per hour
*Cranial Sacral Therapy. This works with the tidal pulse of the cerebral spinal fluid, which is created in the ventricles of the brain and cushions the brain and spinal cord against injury.
Cerebral Spinal fluid was called "spirit fluid" in Victorian times because it is opalescent and glows. The goal is to put the pulse of the bones, organs, and tissues in synch with one
another; so that they are all flexing at the same time, then extending at the same time. This creates a subtle structural adjustment and releases physical, emotional, and mental trauma. The touch is subtle and extremely relaxing, bringing the client into their essence.
*Polarity Therapy. This modality was developed in India by an Austrian Osteopath named Dr. Randolph Stone. It views the body as a microcosm of the universe and subject to the laws of polarity. The body has positive, neutral, and negative poles through which life energy flows. When the opposite poles are balanced with each other, they are polarized, and we feel relaxed, aware, and whole. This is accomplished through working with the magnetic field of the client. Using deep and light touch on pressure points, connecting cross currents from positive to negative in the body, and gentle rocking, physical blockages are released. The conscious is connected to the subconscious through the manipulations, so mental and emotional blocks and pain are released as well. Deep relaxation and well being are experienced.
*Thalmotherapy. This polarity treatment reconnects communication between the hypothalamus, sensory nerves, and motor nerves. A series of points is held on the body with a light clockwise or counterclockwise motion. Deep relaxation is experienced as the client sinks into their body. This treatment is also an endocrine system balancer. It has been used with substance withdrawal of all kinds, from nicotine to heroin. It can be incorporated into any treatment.
*Lymphatic Drainage. This modality drains the lymph. The lymph carries waste product from the tissues to the blood to be passed out of the system. Lymph plays a key role in
immunity and is our most superficial tissue. If the lymph is not flowing properly, then our deepest cells are not getting "fed" by the nutrients we take into our bodies. Because the
lymph does not have a pump to move it, we need move it manually to maintain good circulation and strong immunity. This is an invigorating massage using flushing strokes.
*Pregnancy and Infant Massage. Massage during pregnancy has many benefits. It is relaxing, reduces edema(moves lymph), alleviates stress on joints and low back, prepares birthing muscles, calms the sympathetic nervous system, helps sciatic pain, and is nurturing. Post-partum massage speeds the recovery process, relieves the trauma of labor, and assists the body in returning to its pre-pregnancy state. Infant massage soothes birth trauma, calms babies, and helps parent-infant bonding. A sense of love and well being is conveyed. Many different modalities are used during and after pregnancy.
*Myofascial Release. This modality focuses on the connective tissue in the body, which is the interconnected web that holds us together. It bands our muscle cells into bundles, connects our muscles to one another, holds our organs in place, cushions our brain and spinal cord, and connects our bones to one another. This is a deep pulling technique using a minimal amount of oil to break-up fused connective tissue and bring new blood and nutrients to the tissues. It reduces muscle tightness and pain and allows the tissues to "breathe" again.
*Deep Tissue Massage. This uses deep pressure focusing on deep muscles and attachments where muscles connect to bone. Reduces knots, tightness, excessive contraction, and pain. It increases circulation and loosens tight joints.
*Oncology Massage. Massage is a great benefit for people undergoing treatment for cancer or in remission. It increases circulation, eases pain and nausea, increases a sense of well being, and is relaxing. Many different modalities are useful and appropriate. Hot Stones are especially soothing.
*Hot Stones. I use hot basalt stones in all of my treatments. The heat relaxes fused tissue, and the stones are grounding. They can give earth energy to the client, or they can absorb energy that no longer serves the client. They are wonderful.
